Okay, so this is the second time I’ve had to call my super to fix some plumbing that I broke. Last time, I was replacing my kitchen sink faucet, and the water shutoffs didn’t work. Of course, this didnt stop me from tryin to do it anyway (if I switch them fast enough, how much water could really get out?). This of course ended up with my super spending an hour or so fixing my goof.
This time, I was replacing our bathroom vanity sink with a pedistal sink. This was at my fiancee’s insistance (hmm… there must be some angle to blame her? Doh — she reads my blog!), and will hopefully get us a little more cash when we sell out appartment. Well, it turns out that the pipes were not quite the right size for the pedistal. Instead of getting some proffessional help, of course, I decided that the pipes should be able to bend just a little to make it fit. No, looking back, that wasn’t particularly smart.
Well, my super is stopping by in a little bit to help me out. It’s a good thing I gave him a decent tip for the holidays. And, coincidentally, that today is my “work from home” day at work.
I told my super that I wouldn’t be doing any more plumbing-related “improvements.” He told me not to quit my day job.
