I’ve been speaking with some small business tech places recently. These are the guys who will come in and set up your email or web server for your 2-20 person company. There seems to be a huge market gap for server infrastructure small businesses! I mean, do you guys realize that for an email and database server which might run you $3k-5k under Windows would cost $900 in Linux? I mean, com-on guys! I know it takes time to adopt new technologies, but this is ridiculous.
While some of this lack is because small business aren’t always keen on change, some large part is because of the lack of computer consultants who are offering Linux support to their clients.
The big question, of course, is whether this is a market opportunity or a market direction.
